Portraits of a Young Family in Wheaton, IL

This spring, I had the absolute joy of photographing a beautiful family at Cantigny Park—one of my favorite spots in the Chicago west suburbs. This lovely family moved to the U.S. from India a few years ago, and they now have the sweetest 9-month-old baby, who lit up the entire session with her curious eyes and gummy smile.

We wandered through the blooming gardens and quiet paths, capturing a mix of portrait and candid moments that felt both joyful and intimate. The soft sunlight filtering through the trees, the tulips in full bloom, and the historic charm of Cantigny created the perfect backdrop for this season of their life.

From playful snuggles to gentle kisses between mom and dad, each photo tells a piece of their story—one of love, new beginnings, and growing roots in a new home. Their baby was absolutely fascinated by the flowers and birds, and I loved capturing her wonder in the little in-between moments.

Here are a few of my favorite images from their spring family photo session at Cantigny Park:

It’s always an honor to document these fleeting moments—especially when families are far from their extended loved ones and want to preserve memories they can share across the world.

If you’re looking to capture natural, heartwarming family portraits in the Chicago suburbs, I’d love to help you create something meaningful. Reach out to book your own session at Cantigny Park or another beautiful local spot this summer!
